Title: By That Last Candle's Light More than just Sirius died that night at the Ministry. Harry is left strangely empty, driven by one thought only, a burning desire for revenge on the witch who killed his Godfather. But the further he goes, the more blurred everything gets, and slowly for both of them the borders between hate, violence and lust are becoming fluid in a world that is torn by war, and seemingly has lost its hope, the day its supposed saviour vanished. Post-OotP, Dark!Harry, Harry/Bellatrix, mentions of violence and torture.

Rereading Harry's thoughts about the successful Crucio casting reminded me a bit of a soon-to-become drug addict's wanderings after smoking Pot for the first time. A very interesting perspective, if perhaps not totally valid. Really like your fic, can't wait to see where you'll go with it. Looking forward to more!

A bit late here and I'm tired, so I'm not sure if I understood it right -- reads like he's not quite there when casting his Crucio? He isn't -- he's lost in his fantasies, born out of his fixation on getting revenge. I'm actually working on how I'll develop that; it allows him to cast his Crucio for sure, but since he's got eyes for no one and nothing else, he's open to any other attack, which is rather impractical. On the other hand, it is a important part of his character, so it has to be there in some ways ... have to think on that. Anyway, thanks for the review.
