Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 10 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Another good chapter.
The new ideas presented in this chapter are interesting to say the least. So it would seem the mist is an intergalactic visitor. Other than that, i don't know how it all fits yet, but it sure is interesting.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 9 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Very good chapter.
I like the integration of Muggle and magical technology, considering that if it didn't happen at some point, the Muggles would be able to easily defeat the Wizarding world if the Statue of Secrecy were to crumble.
I'm assuming that the only reason Harry didn't check his coffee was because he was deep in the Muggle world, and at the time had no reason to suspect anything amiss, since Maggie had not displayed any strange mannerisms to that point.

Another good chapter. I don't think I'm auror material, considering i only got one out of the three riddles. Oh well.
I did find some mistakes, grammatical in nature. Here they be:
You catch it in less than nineteen minutes and thirty seconds and you've got the spot, james.†She turned and smiled at Albus. “And you, Albus, if you catch it before your brother in the same amount of time you'll play in reserve for the year. Got it?â€
Lower case "James" in this section.
"It sped away underneath his brother's broom, just as albus came out of a quick nauseating spin in mid-air after a split-second stop and shot off again, back at James who was just falling into the same gut-wrenching manoeuvre."
Lower case "Albus".
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 7 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Yet again a good chapter.
I liked the explanation as to why Dorgin was assigned to Hogwarts, as well as the actual Dorgin character himself. I can't remember whether or not he was mentioned in canon.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 6 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Another good chapter.
Having the mist creatures be vulnerable to Albus' blood makes for another interesting plot addendum. It would seems that Voldemort is certainly a lot more alive than Harry would like to admit. Perhaps a Horcrux still remianing that both Dumbledore and Harry didn't know about.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 5 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Good chapter.
Interesting development with Voldemort potentially still alive in some form.
You do very well with the little details that added together make for a more involving and textured world. Such as there being an elevator attendant after the 5th year ministry fiasco.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 4 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
Good chapter.
I do hope that you don't plan on making Albus too powerful, as that would rather detract from the basic premise that most wizards are comparable in strength when they start out. If he gradually reaches that level, or you have a good explanation for it, fine. Having a randomly powerful character would not be too exciting. However, taking into account the visions Albus had, it seems you're aiming for something higher here.
While Charms and Transfiguration were decent, the truly interesting class seemed to be DADA. Very well done in that respect.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 3 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
In some fashions this chapter seems to be Sorcerer's stone redux, but in most others stands as a nice, well written chapter.
The most interesting bit in this chapter was Albus' reaction upon first seeing the castle. Methinks this could be the benighted soul we met in chapter 2. Time shall tell, but regardless, very good job at totally taking this fiction in a different direction than the one i had originally envisioned.
In case you're open to corrections.
"....Albus could see a whole page of complex ruins that gave..."
I think you meant "runes" here.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 2 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
It seemed that in canon Dumbeldore was one of the only wizards who had such an intimate connection with magic as to be able to feel in the air, so profoundly. It would seem this new antagonist may be a prodigy on his level.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 1 from Voice of the Nephilim on February 16, 2008
A decent beginning, gets the point across that this story will be the de-construction of the Potter myth. Potentially interesting.

Very good chapter. Keep it up...
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 9 from Lord Ravenclaw on February 03, 2008
The plot thickens. It would seem that even Scotland Yard is being infiltrated. What happened to those Aurors there though? Are they simply on call, or were they supposed to guard as well?
Author reply
Hey, mate. The plot has indeed... thickened. This badguy of Harry' s seems to be attacking from all sides. Who would do that? Why? Why is the question. Aw, yep, those Aurors weren't anywhere nearby, really, but there's a big old briefing in the next chapter that'll clear that up - Harry's had enough. Tghanks for reading, joe
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 9 from Imperator Pesmerga on February 03, 2008
Wow such a great chapter. Everything about it was great, and it's possible the b est chapter yet. Here's one concern though- as well done as the gun wielding here is, it would take a bit of the magic away if it becomes Harry's main form of offense. It's still a good story is- hell one of the best- so I'll trust your decision on this one. Can't wait for the next update!
Author reply
Ah, don't be worrying - Harry's main form of offense has yet to be truly seen in this story. I've had him use maybe one or two quick psells, no real magic, I'm saving that scene for a special occasion. Forgive me for typos in this I can't see it for some reason - it works sometimes, whcih is awesome. But yeah, next upodate about halfwaus towards nearly being a quarter of the way done, plus tax. joe
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 8 from kovacs on January 30, 2008
Hey Joe,
This is a great to start to a potentially amazing story. I love the suspense, mystery, and the awesome crescendo.
Specifically, I found it very interesting and fitting how you portrayed Dumbledore's portrait. It does not seem like it is a really important scene, but I thought it was done very well. I am not sure if it was your goal but Dumbledore seemed removed from reality or aloof.
He responds to the situation in a much different manner than he would if he was truly there. Even with the ability for the deceased to maintain some connection to the living, they take on the role of a passive observer. Dumbledore's role is akin to that an estranged grandfather that still loves those he left behind. He cannot offer insight into what Harry should do, or how to keep the school safe. His only insight is in passing sentiment.
Speaking of portraits of old headmasters, I am rooting for the appearance of Al's other namesake. Yet, I fear that it cannot be done withouth being corny and artificial. However, if anybody can pull it off, it is you.
Regards,
Kovacs

Excellent chapter, though it is an evil place to end it. >:(
I admit that I found the whole training part to be a bit boring, especially the part where Ron is a 'master strategist' but that's more of a personal peeve then anything.
The Muggle-Wizard dealings are very cool and pretty original. And while Technomancy is not an original idea, it's rarely been done well. Hopefully you can pull it off.
I have an idea as to who the Shadowman is- don't want to say who it is because it might spoil it for anyone looking at the reviews- but I like how you're building him/her up.
Lastly, I'm pretty interested as to how Dolores Umbridge is still alive. Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't she kill herself?
Author reply
Hey, thanks for the review again. Well, perhaps Ron is a tad to smart, but he did beat McGonagall at chess at the tender age of eleven, and he's nearing forty now, so its not a big jump... really, not so big... Yeah, can't leave that muggle world alone - got to get them involved somehow, and technomancy's as old as the hulls, I know, but a few twists, I have. Oh, that Shadowman, who could he be? There are one or two, really only one, suspect at this stage, isn't there? Red herring, perhaps? Or maybe not?... I can't see what I'm typing again so I hope this is making sense, becasue I just forgot where I was up to. Umm... yeah, Umbridge should be dead - why isn't she? Cheeky mare won't stay down. All the best, joe

Great chapter, joe. Pretty evil to leave it where you did though >:(
Recruit Crichton, eh? Been watching too much Farscape? :)
Author reply
Not so much evil as funny - and frustrating. On second thoughts, we'll stick with evil. Yeah I kinda had some free time and watched a Farscape marathon on Sci Fi last weekend. Meh, it 's a quality show with many fine dynamics and plot intrigue and... heh. All the best, dude.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 7 from That Wench on January 25, 2008
Wow ... I really love this fic. I didn't think I'd enjoy a DH compliant fic ... but I was proven wrong!
This is one of the only fics I've recently read which I'm actually waiting on for an update :| Consider yourself lucky there :P
On a slightly more serious note, I did find a few grammatical and spelling errors dotted around the chapter but they were so few I thought you'd probably just missed them. It's not like you made any outstanding ones. I just thought I'd let you know.
Anywho, great fic so far, great characterisation and plot formation and it's written well. I'm waiting on an update sometime soonage :D
Author reply
Ha, yeah, those bastard spelling errors always, always sneak in somehow. They are the bane of my very existence, alongside rising cost of fuel. Thanks for reading ad reviewing - new chapter is up, bit of a cliffhanger but new one soon!
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 1 from Imperator Pesmerga on January 22, 2008
Great chapter. It's getting more and more interesting by the chapter.
My only problem with this story though is the massive undertaking it'll be. Now, I think you know that most Harry Potter fics rarely ever get finished- especially ones that start from first year. This is an EXCELLENT story, but it is also a behemoth. Your update rate is excellent, but finish a story- especially one as epic as this- is never easy.
Keep on going though, I'm loving it so far, and while your story will be a b--- to finish, you can do it,.
Author reply
Hmm... yeah, I can see it'll take a bit more effort to get this story done. Especially with the rough plans and ideas I've got on where to take it. But I've some experience with long, epic tales - for the most part reading them, for the most part - and think I've got the will to see it through. I really want to write the ending I've got written - as nothing will make sense until then, so long as I can keep the mystery mysterious all the way through and some bright reader does not guess the twist in the tale. The word 'behemoth' just gave me an idea. Nice word that, cool use. Cheers again for the review, this_old_dance
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 7 from Lord Ravenclaw on January 20, 2008
Excellent update. I especially enjoy how you've been giving tantalizing pieces of information a bit at a time to add to the mystery. I also enjoy the more Harry-centric view. As enjoyable as watching from the perspective of Albus is, it just isn't the same as from the seat of Harry.
Author reply
I've never actually written mystery before, so if this story is coming off as mysterious then I guess I'm doing something right. I've no clear path for this tale, only that it wanted to be written, but there are a few certain ideas of got running through the old head. Mysterious, tantalizing ideas... Yeah, Harry is the star, I reckon, and if it ain't broke don't fix it - Harry and Al will be co-stars. All the best, buddy, thank you for reviewing again, this_old_dance
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 6 from Imperator Pesmerga on January 15, 2008
Very cool chapter. I'll take a good guess and say that the Mist creatures have returned right? Also, I like how you introduced some excitement into this chapter- I was a bit worried that this story would end up like other stories where there's barely any conflict. Looks like I'm going to be wrong.
Author reply
Ha, what gave it away? Was it a chapter full of mist creatures? Oh you'll get conflict - we're just warming up here, plenty of cnflict to come. Heheheee... thanks.

Chapter 4: A Broken Path
This could use a bit of fixing :)
Good chapter. It would seem the ambition of Albus Severus is on its way to being fulfilled in a striking parallel of Harry Potter's first adventurous year. I enjoyed the attention to detail and the style of writing, it's quite captivating.
Author reply
Hey there. Thanks again for reviewing Is young Al striving to live up to Harry's legacy? Or does he not have a choice! I like to think its a little of both. Thanks again.
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 6 from Mors on January 13, 2008
As I've already said, update soon... all this suspense is killing me.
Nice chapter. I'm wondering about the glowing-blood-thing though.... if it's what I suspect it is, I suppose I'll have to re-read that prophecy again.
Author reply
Oh... plenty more suspense to go. Not even I'm entirely sure what the blood-glowing thing is - it's that mysterious. thanks - this old dance

Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 5 from The Mysterious Nobody on January 12, 2008
Excellent. A pretty impressive story. Great, well-thought writing with good grammar and spelling, an extrememly well-done setting...
What's not to like? You've put effort into it and it shines.
As 'Mors' already told you; "Keep the suspense. Keep up the tension. Update."
Author reply
Hey, thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm having trouble with this author respond thing not appearing properly so forgive any typos here I'm typing blind. Plenty o' suspense and tension on the way - the suspenseful kind. MORS: Thanks for reviewing, mat. Definitely a fan of high fantasy and brnaching out away from the norm fics out there - although still staying true to the heart of the thing, if tht makes sense. Thanks again - this_old_dance
Review for All My Love to Long Ago Chapter 5 from Imperator Pesmerga on January 12, 2008
Brilliant. No problems at all with it, everything is perfect. Even characters like Albus Severus Potter- who has a TERRIBLE name in my opinion- come into their own and become likable characters. Also, I generally despise Ginny, but I'm fine with it here. Just to nitpick, Colin Creevey died in the battle of Hogwarts, and since he was only in sixth year, I doubt that he'd have a son. :p
Author reply
Thank you for reviewing! The Colin Creevey I put in the story is the son of Dennis Creevey, who was the brother of the first Colin Creevey who died at the Battle of Hogwarts. Dennis named his son for his brother. Thanks again - this old dance
