Fate always played the long game.

That’s one thing you have to understand, but then again, fate always had big plans for Harry James Potter. On Halloween Night, 1981 a lot more happened then the defeat of a dark lord.

No, on that night a legacy was made. A champion was born. And it was the beginning of a story which would one day become a Legend.

Harry Potter breathed hard. He wiped the sweat of his forehead and picked up wand again. Across from him was the one and only Albus Dumbledore, his blue eyes twinkling brightly. With a sigh Harry got back to his feet and pointed his wand at his headmaster, at his mentor.

“Well down Harry” his mentor said to him, “You’ve progressed much further than I ever expected in such a short amount of time”

“I’ve had to professor” Harry confessed, “We both know it won’t be long before Voldemort hunts me down again. I have to be ready” he finished, his green eyes narrowing in a determined glare.

“I wish you didn’t have to prepare yourself like this Harry” Dumbledore replied, “You are only sixteen, you should be enjoying yourself, especially during summer”

“But none of that will matter to Voldemort” Harry said, “Anyway, believe it or not, this has been the best summer of my life” he added and he was telling the truth. When he had left Hogwarts at the end of his fifth year, the new of the prophecy and Sirius’s death weighed him down and it looked like it was going to be the worst summer of his life, he couldn’t be more wrong though.

The first night on Privet Drive had been the worst. Images of Sirius falling through the veil constantly passing through Harry’s head. He didn’t sleep at all that night though and was in a grumpy mood the next day because if it. It was a good thing that the Dursleys were out of the house all day, because that was the day Remus and Professor Dumbledore had come to visit him.

At first Harry just let all his anger out on the two wizards and Harry’s magic went crazy. There were a lot of broken items in the Dursley’s living room that day because of Harry’s accidental magic. After Harry had finished yelling and destroying things, the three wizards talked, for a long time. They helped Harry lose the feeling of guilt he had over the death and Harry was able to start remembering all good times he spent with Sirius. Then Harry was told that he only had to stay at Privet Drive for three days this year, before he would go to Hogwarts for some special classes with order members and Dumbledore. Of course, Harry jumped at the chance.

The next day Harry went shopping and brought a whole new wardrobe of clothes so he could finally stop wearing Dudley’s old clothes. He even brought a rather expensive muggle suit from muggle London, for some reason he just couldn’t help it. Later on that day Dumbledore had given him a gift. Dumbledore had given him the Sword of Gryffindor.

At first Harry was amazed but Dumbledore explained to him that because he was the one who pulled it out of the sorting hat in his second year that the sword wouldn’t respond to anyone else. Dumbledore had asked Harry to keep it on him at all times and had placed some convenient charms to make to sword weightless and invisible unless Harry ever needed it.

After a few days, Harry went to Hogwarts and his training began. Every morning he would have to wake up early and do his daily running then weight lifting to help get himself into shape. Then he would train with his sword with Kingsley. He would then have breakfast followed by learning useful charms and transfiguration in duelling with Flitwick and learning new DADA spells with Moody. Then Harry would have lunch, followed by learning magical theory with Tonks (which was basically learning how to control the amount of power put into spells) and he would then spend the rest of the afternoon practicing duelling with Dumbledore. After that was finished he would eat dinner and collapse in bed exhausted after a long day.

Harry found his training stressful and difficult for the first month. He was improving, but at a very slow rate. His training was such a strain on Harry’s magic that he was sure he would overwork it and it would overload one day, when he told Dumbledore of his fears, he just replied by saying that it would get better. And it did get better. On his sixteenth birthday Harry went through one of the most painful experiences of his life. He experienced a Magical Surge.

A magical surge happened on a witch or wizards sixteenth birthday and was when the witch or wizards magical energy breaks free of it’s own natural magical bounds. This didn’t happen to many people at all. In fact the only two other wizards known to have had one in the last few hundred years, Tom Riddle and Albus Dumbledore. On his birthday he woke up screaming in pain as his entire body was filled with magic. More magic then he had ever felt.

Harry had taken the day of the recover from the pain but the day afterwards he contniued his training. And Dumbledore was right, the training became easier. It was like his magic did anything he wanted it to due. He never felt magically exhausted anymore and he had so much more power to put into his spells. He did however find himself working a lot harder in Magical theory as he know had more magical power which made I harder to control the amount of power he put into spells. The magical surge had also fixed his sight. He asked Dumbledore how and he explained that the magical surge could usually fix things on the body which conventional magic couldn’t.

So here Harry was, duelling Dumbledore. Of course he kept being beaten, but Harry was proud of himself because every time they duelled Harry lasted longer each time. But today was September 1st, and Harry would have to leave Hogwarts to go to King’s cross only to go back to Hogwarts (Harry thought it was crazy to but Dumbledore told him it was best Voldemort didn’t know he spent the summer at Hogwarts) but Harry wanted to duel Dumbledore one last time. This last thought drew Harry back to the present. He looked up to see Dumbledore looking at him fondly.

“Impressive Harry” Dumbledore said referring to their last duel, “I daresay it won’t be long before you are able to defeat me”

Harry smiled a little at the compliment, “Thank you sir”

“Now I suggest you get showered and changed, your Portkey to King’s Cross leaves in half an hour” Dumbledore said, Harry smiled and turned to leave the room. He stopped just shy of the door and turned back to Dumbledore.

“Thank you for…everything professor” Harry said, “I wasn’t always sure last year especially after Sirius but now I know that everything you’ve done has always been because you thought it was the right thing to do”

Dumbledore just nodded and the two just looked at each other before Harry turned and left the room.

During the summer Harry had slept in the Gryffindor common room. He would have found it lonely if the training hadn’t kept him so busy. As soon as he reached the fat lady he mumbled the password and entered the common room, he ripped of his t-shirt as he went straight for the shower. Fifteen minutes later he came out again, looking a lot more refreshed. As he walked over to the trunk he walked passed the mirror and stopped as he saw his own reflection. He was no longer a scrawny teenager, that was for sure. The combination of having three proper meals a day and all the training had down wonders to Harry’s body as he no looked toned and more importantly, healthy. He looked a lot different without the glasses and now his green eyes stood out even more. He had let his hair grow throughout the summer and now it was long enough to tie back into a ponytail.

Harry decided to put on a pair of black trainers with a loose pair of black jeans and a plain black cotton shirt. He quickly brushed his air and tied it back into a ponytail and wordlessly shrunk his trunk so it fit into his pocket. Happy with the way he looked Harry left the common room the walked down the Great Hall. There he found Dumbledore once more but he looked like he didn’t get the chance to wash up but smiled at Harry when he saw him anyway.

“Ah Harry” Dumbledore greeted when he saw Harry, “Grab this tea cup, it is your Portkey. You will land in an alley around the corner from King’s cross; I trust you can walk the rest of the way”

“Yes professor” Harry replied, “I suppose I will see you in a few hours”

“Yes you will Harry” Dumbledore said.

“I’ll see you then I suppose”

“Bye Harry” That was the last thing Harry heard before he felt he familiar tug of a Portkey.

Harry didn’t know it then but that would be the last time he saw his headmaster for a long time.

Harry landed in an alley which he recognised as only round the corner from the train station. Harry walked out of the alley and walked the short distance to the train station in a few minutes. He got into the station and discreetly walked through the barrier to Platform 9 and ¾ and looked toward the sight of the Hogwarts Express. What surprised him though was that they were few parents or students around. Harry quickly checked the watch he had brought himself over the summer and saw that he was about an hour early, he was never early.

Harry just took advantage of it and for once was able to board the train without gathering any attention; he quickly found a compartment at the very back of the train and closed his eyes, falling asleep while waiting for the train to leave. He woke up a little while later upon hearing the noise of students. He looked out the window and saw the train station packed with students and anxious parents. With the return of Voldemort their were more teary eyed parents then before but there was still the same amount of students returning to Hogwarts, everyone seemed to accept the fact that Hogwarts was currently the safest place for people to be. Harry checked his watch one more time and saw that the train was due to leave in a few minutes. He looked over toward the barrier and right on time he saw the Weasley’s hurrying through, trying to make it to the train on time.

“Harry?” a timid voice from the doorway asked, Harry spun around to see Neville standing there.

“Hey Neville” Harry greeted, “Come in” he said and Neville walked in the compartment and sat opposite him.

“Wow” Neville said looking at Harry properly, “You look different. What happened to your glasses?”

Harry chuckled, “I’ll take that as a compliment, anyway, I don’t need them anymore” he replied honestly.

“Why not?” Neville asked and Harry told Neville the quick version of events that summer. Including the whole magical surge and training. It was then he heard voices coming from outside the compartment. Both Harry and Neville looked to see a bushy haired girl and two red headed teenagers walk past there compartment.

“He’s not here Hermione” Harry heard his best friend Ron complaining.

“He has to be Ronald” Harry’s other best friend, Hermione answered, “Stop moaning and keep checking”

“Look there’s Neville” Ron’s sister, Ginny pointed out. The three friends peeked into the compartment to see Neville and Harry looking at the three of them with amused faces.

“HARRY” Hermione and Ginny screamed as they rushed over to hug him.

“Nobody’s hugged me” Ron mumbled as he also shook his friend’s hand. “Wow Harry, you look different”

Harry chuckled again and gave the same answer he gave to Neville earlier, “I’ll take that as a compliment”

“What happened to your glasses” Ron asked, Harry blushed slightly as he saw out of the corner of his eye Hermione and Ginny checking him out but he pretended that he didn’t notice and answered Ron’s question. Just as he had with Neville, Harry explained all about his training. Once he was finished his explanations about his summer, Hermione asked him the one question he was dreading.

“How are you Harry?” she asked, “You know…with Sirius” she said finishing quietly, Harry smiled and nodded,

“I’m ok” Harry replied.

“Harry you shouldn’t hide your feelings” Hermione argued.

“I’m not honestly” Harry said, “I mean; I’m always going to miss him. And I know I made a mistake…”

“It wasn’t your fault” Hermione interrupted,

“I know, but that doesn’t mean I’m not partly responsible” Harry said then held up his hands to stop Hermione from interrupting again and added, “But I’ll learn from my mistake. Hermione, honestly, I’m ok”

Hermione seemed content to drop the subject and the train started moving. Harry spent the entire journey talking and laughing with his friends. However, Harry didn’t know that this would be the last time he had the chance to enjoy his friends company, for this was the day Harry Potter died.

The train pulled into Hogsmeade station about six hours later and after hours of eating, talking and playing chess, Harry was ready to go back to Hogwarts.

“I’m telling you Harry it was bloody awful at the Burrow this summer” Ron moaned as the group began to get of the train. “Fred and George was using me as their own personal test subject”

“It wasn’t that bad Ron” Ginny said.

“Not bad for you they left you alone most of the holidays. Just because you’re the youngest and you’re a girl” Ron complained.

“Stop acting like such a baby” Ginny retorted, Harry stood back and watched the two siblings bicker. Suddenly a short sharp stabbing pain hit his scar; he immediately clapped his hand over it. The pain left as quickly as it came. Hermione was the only that seemed to notice Harry’s distress.

“Are you okay?” she whispered so the others wouldn’t hear her.

“I’m fine” Harry replied, “But excited about something”

“Do you know what he’s excited about?” asked a worried Hermione.

“No” Harry replied, “But knowing Voldemort it can’t be good” the two shared a worried glance before Ron called them.

“Oi” Ron shouted out, “You coming or not?”

“Yeah” Harry called back and after sharing one more significant glance with Hermione they both jogged to catch up with Ron, Ginny and Neville. Harry noticed something after the incident with his scar, the air felt…different.

He knew it didn’t make any sense but it felt like the entire world was waiting for something to happen, maybe Harry was paranoid, maybe he wasn’t but he drew his wand discreetly. Harry’s friends, oblivious to Harry’s concerns waited patiently for a carriage.

“Bloody ridiculous if you ask me” Ron continued, “She get’s special treatment just because she’s a girl and she’s the youngest. It’s not fair if you ask me”

Hermione rolled her eyes, “Get over it Ronald”

“Trust you to take her side” Ron retorted, “You’re with me right Harry” Ron added looking toward his friend. Harry wasn’t even listening to his friend’s discussion; instead he was looking around frantically, searching for any sign of trouble. “HARRY” Ron called out, Harry’s head snapped round to face him.

“Yes”

“What’s wrong?” he said before he caught sight of Harry’s wand, “And what are you doing with that out?”

Harry took his eyes of Ron and contniued searching his surroundings, “Something…something doesn’t feel right” he said vaguely.

“What do you mean?” asked a confused Ginny,

“Something is about to happen” Harry continued,

“Your paranoid mate” Ron said to Harry, “Were in Hogsmeade man, nothings going to happen” Ron’s reassurances didn’t do Harry any good. Suddenly a burst of wind swept through the station, dropping the temperature of the area by about five degrees.

“Did you feel that?” Harry asked.

“Yeah Harry, its called wind” Ron replied sarcastically even though he was shivering.

“No” Harry said, “There was something very…magical about that”

“Harry’s right” Hermione said, “That wind was too creepy” she finished, Harry noticed that she also drew her wand, ready for anything. Ginny seemed to follow Hermione’s lead and drew her wand as well.

“You guys are crazy” Ron said shaking his head. In the distance Harry could hear a twig snap. His head turned to the source of the noise. It came from the outskirts of Hogsmeade, Harry couldn’t see anything but he knew something…or someone was there. He looked around him and could see some of the students had already departed toward Hogsmeade but most was still waiting for carriages. Harry looked back to where he heard the noise and he almost jumped when he saw a cold pair of grey eyes staring back at him. The whole world seemed to just hold its breath, something terrible was about to happen, but it seemed that only Harry knew that.

Harry stared right back into the mysterious grey eyes before they looked away, suddenly Harry heard many more small sounds, sounds you wouldn’t hear unless you was listening for them, Harry automatically knew there was a large number of people hiding. No body else noticed though, the noise of the students chatter drowned out any mysterious noises. It was then Harry felt them. The creatures that Harry hated the most. His mother’s voice echoes through his head. Harry knew that Dementors was coming through the darkness.

“Oh that can’t be good” Harry muttered but all his friends heard him, no one else seemed to notice the presence of the Dementors yet.

“Harry what’s wrong?” a worried Ginny asked, Harry didn’t answer as his sense was telling him to get out of way. He knew a huge burst of magic was coming his way. Harry had to think and come up with a plan quickly.

“You guys remember how to cast a patronus right?” Harry asked quickly,

“Yeah why?” Ginny asked.

“Then cast it” Harry said hurriedly, Ginny, Hermione and Ron all gave him questioning looks as if he had finally lost it. Harry looked back into the darkness and saw many pairs of eyes watching him; he could almost hear them say simultaneously,

Avada Kerdava

Harry reacted quickly as dozens of green lights begun to form, he pointed his wand at the ground at levitated a rock; he saw that his friends hadn’t done what he’s asked.

“DO IT NOW” Harry yelled, the franticness in Harry’s voice seemed to convince them and simultaneously animals made up of light burst into the air, lighting up the sky. Harry didn’t see this though as he immediately enlarged the stone he had levitated so it covered all the students still at the station. The students looked confused but suddenly the green lights hit the stone, blowing it up into millions of small pieces. Harry was sent flying backwards by the force of the explosion as was any students that were standing near Harry. Now defenceless Harry saw many other killing curses begin flying through the air.

“GET DOWN” Harry yelled to the students as he threw himself to the ground and saw a killing curse fly over his head. Many students got down onto the ground after Harry’s warning but to Harry’s displeasure he saw a few students get hit by the fatal green lights. Trying to focus on the task at hand he saw Dementors once again start to hover around Hogsmeade station, he saw that Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville had stopped casting patronuses to avoid the killing curses,

“KEEP USING YOUR PATRONUSES AND STAY ON THE GROUND” Harry ordered, Harry’s loyal friends did just that as Harry struggled to think of a plan. This was obviously Voldemort’s work. And he was defiantly trying to kill Harry again. All of the Death Eaters were covered by darkness and Harry knew that you couldn’t fight something that you couldn’t see. And Harry knew he had to get the rest of the students to safety. One word summed up everything Harry was thinking.

“Shit”

The Death Eaters at the other side of Hogsmeade contniued reigning down curses at the students and Harry couldn’t help but wonder, where the hell was Dumbledore? And where was the rest of the order? Harry shook these thoughts out of his mind. He had to come up with a plan. Slowly, a plan began to form in Harry’s head, it was stupid, and it was dangerous, but it was the only thing he could think of.

Harry took a deep breath before he stood up but he had to jump straight back down to avoid a killing curse.

“HARRY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Hermione yelled, Harry ignored her. He got back to his feet and carried on running forwards. He had to keep swerving and dodging to avoid getting hit by curses but in a few seconds he was able to make it to a position where he was between all of the students and the attackers. Harry moved quickly and brought his wand to the ground and began muttering spells. At first nothing happened but after a few seconds the ground began to shake violently. The curses stopped as the ground vibrated and Harry just assumed it was because the attackers had all lost there footing. Suddenly the ground between Harry and the Death Eaters shot upwards. Harry guided a wall of concrete high up into the air and made sure it was wide enough to cover all the students. Harry breathed a sigh of relief for a moment but did not move, waited to see if the wall of concrete would hold against the killing curses. Suddenly there was a resounding thud throughout Hogsmeade and a large crack formed into the wall, it was a killing curse, but Harry knew it would hold, for now.

“Harry” a voice shouted and he saw a frightened Hagrid running toward him. The half giant embraced Harry quickly before looking over to the wall.

“What did you do Harry?” Hagrid asked but before Harry could answer, two furious girls stormed over to him.

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING” Hermione practically screamed,

Harry shrugged, “Saving our lives” he said with a nervous smile.

“YOU COULD HAVE DIED HARRY” Ginny shouted,

“Well, if I didn’t a lot more people would have died” Harry replied, Hermione and Ginny looked like they wanted to continue to argue but Harry stopped them, “You can shout at me later, but that wall isn’t going to hold forever. We need a plan” Harry paused and it seemed that most students seemed to be listening to him, as if assuming he was the one in charge. Harry just shrugged. “Hagrid where’s Dumbledore and the rest of the Order?”

“There were three other attacks today in different parts of England Harry” Hagrid answered sombrely, “I don’t think any of them are even aware of this attack”

Harry sighed, “Well that’s not good is it?” he asked rhetorically,

“Harry what are we going to do?” Ginny asked Harry closed his eyes for a moment; no one was going to like his plan. But Harry knew it had to be done. There was another loud thud from the wall Harry had created; Harry knew he didn’t have that much time.

“Hagrid it looks like everyone is going to have to get onto the boats this year” Harry said looking at the floor.

“There isn’t enough boats though” Ron pointed out,

“Just conjure more boats then” Harry answered and at Ron’s look Harry added, “Ask Hermione to show people how to”

“How long is that wall going to last?” Hagrid asked.

“Not long” Harry answered truthfully, worried chatter broke out so Harry had to raise his voice to be heard, “But don’t worry because I’ve got a plan”

“And what’s that?” Hermione asked, but one look at Harry’s face gave her her answer, “Oh no you don’t Harry James Potter you’ll get yourself killed”

“Got any other ideas?” Harry asked, Hermione didn’t answer.

“What are you talking about?” asked a confused Ron.

“Harry’s planning on going out there” Hermione answered rather coldly.

“Harry you can’t” Ginny argued, “You won’t be able to survive” Harry looked out to see Hagrid starting to usher the scared students onto boats.

“Look at them” Harry said pointing out some of the more scared younger students, “There scared, this is their first year at Hogwarts and they can’t protect themselves. I’m not going to stand by and watch something happen to them just because I’m here” Harry said sternly, no one said anything. “Trust me, I’ll be back” he said before muttering,

“Portus”

“No Harry wait” Hermione shouted but it was too late, Harry had disappeared. This was the last time they saw Harry for a very long time.

000

Harry landed on the ground only a few yards away from where he had made the wall. Their he pondered his first problem. He knew he couldn’t find people he couldn’t see so the only way around that was to make some light. After Harry had an idea he rolled out of his hiding place but immediately had to roll again to avoid a killing curse that was aimed at the wall. He pointed his wand to the ground and shouted,

“IGNIS INCENDIA” Powerful flames appeared from his wand on the ground and Harry immediately pushed the fire forward into the area Harry knew the Death Eaters was hiding. The flames raced into the areas and Harry directed it to a nearby tree, setting it alight in flame.

The tree was large and because of that, it lit the surroundings areas well. Harry saw dozens of dark figures scurry away from the light and from view, but Harry just sent the flame to follow, there was no where to run, no where to hide. The downside to Harry’s plan was that Harry’s position was now made known and Harry and to dive to the right to avoid free green lights. Harry got back to his feet and ran toward the area where Harry had set alight; he wanted to keep all the curses away from the wall he had built. He ran forward ducking and diving out of the way of curses as he ran forward until he got to the area Harry had set alight.

As soon as Harry reached the area the curses stopped. Harry slowed down to walk and had his wand outstretched ready for anything, but nothing happened. His enemies were hiding, waiting for the perfect chance to jump Harry so Harry kept himself on guard at all times. He got to Zonko’s joke shop and slowly walked inside, hoping to find some sort of help. What he saw when he walked into the shop shocked him. The entire shop had been turned upside down. All the goods were thrown all over the floor and shelves had been destroyed, there had been a struggle, that much was for sure.

“Hello” Harry called out, his voice echoed of the walls. “Anybody there” he called out again, he heard a cracking sound and spun around to see two tall figures dressed in black with a white mask walk out of the backroom.

“Ah, I wasn’t looking for you guys. I’ll just turn around and leave” Harry said to the two wizards or witches that looked ready to curs him at any second. He heard another sound and turned to see another Death Eater walk through the front door.

“I don’t suppose there’s any chance of you guys just letting me leave is there?” Harry asked, all three death eaters raised their wands, “I didn’t think so” The words of the killing curse began to from on their lips but Harry’s seeker reflex’s made him react quicker and raised his wand to above where the two death eaters where standing. And shouted,

“REDUCTO” The door frame above the death eaters exploded with force and Harry’s curse had destroyed part of the foundations of the building. Because of this, large pieces of wood which made up the ceiling began falling down on all three people in the room. As soon as Harry fired the curse, he dived to the right to avoid the Green light sent from the Death Eater still behind him. Knowing what his Reducto curse would do, Harry put up a shield and protected himself as the ceiling fell down on the four people.

Once all the dust had cleared Harry let his shield drop and pushed his way out from all the wood. He stood back up and surveyed the shop, the floor was covered in wood and dust and Harry couldn’t see any of the Death Eaters. Harry walked toward the door of the shop and pushed away some wood to find the Death Eater’s limp body. He checked for a pulse. The Death Eater was dead, and Harry had killed him.

Harry put any of his guilty thoughts away, remembering he was in the middle of a battle, suddenly the window was smashed and another green light was heading right for him. Harry ducked and rolled but the roll took him straight out of the shop where he saw four Death Eaters with there wands drawn attacking him. Harry had to dive out the way of more curses that was heading his way, they wasn’t killing curses but Harry didn’t trust his shield to hold. Harry suddenly got an idea and pointed his wand at the still burning tree shouting out,

“Wingardum Leviosa” the tree began levitating in the air, the Death Eaters stared at Harry as if wondering what he was doing when Harry acted. He dropped the burning tree from right above the Death Eaters. Their screams filled the night air and Harry suddenly felt very sick knowing that he was the one who caused that. He pushed these feelings aside and quickly stunned the four Death Eaters, seven down. Pity he didn’t know how many there were to begin with.

He quickly glanced at his watch and saw that he had only left his friends five minutes ago; he knew that his friends and the students would need more time. Harry kept his wand drawn and contniued moving down the deserted street of Hogsmeade. When he walked past shops he glanced through their windows. They were all in the same state as Zonko’s was. This attack was planned. And Harry had to admit it, it was planned very well. Flush the order out with other fake attacks, invade Hogsmeade discreetly and wait for the students to come.

Harry continued to walk through the deserted streets of Hogsmeade with his wand raised, ready for anything,

“STUPEFY” Harry reacted quickly to the sound of a spell and quickly brought up a shield.

As the spell bounced of Harry’s shield, Harry wondered what sort of Death Eater would shoot a stunner. Harry looked passed his shield to see a familiar face. Rosmerta from the Three Broomsticks was crouched behind a rock with her wand raised. She had tear stains etched into her face and Harry immediately felt sorry for her. He lifted his hands into the air to show that he meant her now harm. Harry slowly walked forward so he didn’t frighten her, he heard the older woman gasp when she recognised who it was.

“Harry?” she questioned through tear filled eyes, “Harry Potter. Is that you?”

“Yes it’s me” Harry replied, Rosmerta dropped her wand and Harry immediately rushed over to her. “Are you hurt?” he asked.

“No, I’m fine” the woman answered, “What’s going on? Was all that you? The fire, the building collapsing?” the woman asked very quickly, Harry shushed her.

“Come on, we have to get back to the station” Harry stated, “There are people there that will help you”

“Ok” the woman said as Harry helped the woman stand up,

“Stay close to me” Harry said as the two began walking, Harry walked in front of Rosmerta but he soon realised that was a mistake. He suddenly felt the tip of a wand at the back of his skull.

“Well that isn’t very nice is it?” Harry questioning as he tried to think of a way out of this mess. “Rosmerta, listen to me. I can help you” Harry explained. He had thought that Rosmerta thought Harry was a Death Eater in disguise. He couldn’t have been more wrong. There were several loud pops in the area around Harry and Rosmerta, Harry sighed.

“That can’t be good either” Harry muttered as five Death Eaters stalked toward the two. The one that seemed to be the leader of the group laughed loudly.

“So we finally caught Potter” the man hissed, “We’ve been waiting a long time for this”

“I’m guessing your not part of my fan club then” Harry said sarcastically as the five Death Eaters formed a circle around him.

The Death Eaters ignored him, “Good work Rosmerta, we’ll take over from here” the man said, Harry felt the wand leave his head but it was quickly replaced with another one. It was then it hit Harry.

“You put her under the imperious curse just to get to me” he said, “I didn’t know you cared” Once again all five Death Eaters completely ignored him. The Death Eater that held the wand to Harry’s head spoke.

“Drop your wand Potter” he ordered.

“No” Harry replied.

“Drop it” the man said harshly, applying more pressure to Harry’s head.

“You drop your wand” Harry said.

“You’re in no position to make demands Potter” the man said forcibly. Harry sighed knowing he had no choice, he dropped his wand.

“Good boy Potter” the man said, “Kill the woman”

Harry’s eyes widened, “What, NO” Harry shouted but it was too late, a Death Eater to the side of Harry shot the killing curse and hit Rosmerta straight in the chest. Rosmerta dropped to the ground dead.

“You didn’t need to kill her” Harry spat.

“Nor did we need her alive” the Death Eater said coldly. If looks could kill, the Death Eaters would have died very painful deaths.

“It’s time to die Potter” the man said, Harry decided that he would annoy him as much as possible until he could figure out a way out of this mess.

“Really?” Harry asked looking at his watch, “Already?” he questioned.

“Enough of your jokes Potter” the man spat, “It’s time for the Boy Who Lived, to finally die”

“You know how many people have said that to me. And yet I’m still here. In fact, Voldemort said something like that to me as well” Harry paused for a second to show he was thinking, “So you guys actually think you can do something Voldemort can’t. Well that doesn’t make you very good Death Eaters at all does it. So instead of me embarrassing you all and escaping this situation completely unharmed, why don’t we skip the amazing escape part and you just crawl back to Voldemort and take your punishment like the pathetic little vermin you are” Harry finished smirking, “So what’s it going to be?” he asked sarcastically.

The man pushed his wand harder into Harry’s skull, “You really do think a lot of yourself don’t you Potter, well this time, no one’s here to save you” he said, Harry smiled, he may not have his wand, but he was never defenceless.

“Fine, do it the hard way” Harry mumbled, just as the killing curse began to form on his lips, Harry made two simultaneous movements. He lifted his elbow and struck the man’s chin and at the same time, he lifted his legs backwards and kicked him in the area it hurts most. The man groaned in pain and loosened his wand, Harry saw that the other four Death Eaters all lifted their wands and cast the killing curse. Four beams of green light shot at Harry but he reacted quickly and pulled the Death Eater that was behind him in front of him. The Death Eater took all four killing curses, he was dead instantly. Harry felt another pang of guilt as he realised that he just condemned a man to death, but he pushed those feelings aside, he still was in danger.

The four Death Eaters circled Harry; his wand was out of reach as the Death Eater who had just died kicked it away. Well Harry wasn’t defenceless. He makes sure he was never defenceless again.

“So are you supposed to look menacing?” Harry asked as he slowly inched his hand toward the invisible, weightless sword strapped to his belt.

“Give it up Potter” the Death Eater to the right said, apparently this one was a woman, “You have no where to run now”

“Who said anything about running?” Harry asked rhetorically before in one quick movement, he drew Gryffindor’s sword. As soon as Harry’s hands touched the handle of the sword, it negated Dumbledore’s charms and became visible. Gryffindor’s sword wasn’t just any sword. This sword could absorb magical energy and could channel magic rather like a wand.

“You even know how to use that Potter?” the Death Eater asked, amused.

“You’d be surprised” Harry replied before slashing downwards with the sword. Harry powered his sword with his own magical energy and the sword released it in a powerful magical blast. The blast knocked the Death Eaters of their feet. Windows of any nearby shops shattered from the force of Harry’s magic. Harry saw one of the Death Eaters collide with the wall of a shop, he heard a nasty snap and the body went limp on the floor. Harry knew that the Death Eater’s neck had snapped, Harry had killed another person. With a grim thought Harry thought nine down.

Harry had a few seconds with the remaining three Death Eaters down and he ran toward his wand, one of the Death Eaters had recovered though because he had to change course to avoid a killing curse headed for his direction. With a quick burst of speed Harry was able to make it to his wand and grabbed it before rolling and taking shelter behind a shop. He quickly put the sword back onto his belt and re did the charms Dumbledore had done for him before.

After taking a second to breath, Harry peeked out from his hiding place. He couldn’t see where two of the Death Eaters was but the first one was walking down the street and he seemed to be looking for Harry. Harry took full advantage and stunned the Death Eater before he could do anything. Ten down.

Harry saw the others Death Eaters, next to each other trying to find Harry. He quickly stunned them both. Harry breathed a sigh of relief, he checked his watch and saw that he had been gone for fifteen minutes but it felt like so much longer. Harry had to wonder if there was any Death Eaters left, he knew his friends needed more time and Harry wasn’t going to let them down.

He walked back onto the main Hogsmeade road and contniued walking down. Harry felt something, odd. It wasn’t the same feeling as before, t didn’t feel as dark, but it felt just as powerful. No…more powerful. Harry began searching for that power, it felt so…overwhelming so…addictive. He walked slowly through Hogsmeade following the amount of magic in the air. He turned a corner before he saw it.

It was the most incredible sight he had ever seen. It was like there was a fold…a door in the air.

“Harry” a voice carried by the wind whispered. Harry searched frantically for the source of the voice before he realised, it was coming from within the door. Harry wanted to reach out and touch it to see it. He didn’t even notice the pain in his scar.

“Ah Harry we meet again” a cold voice said from behind him. Harry spun around wand raised to look straight into a pair of red eyes, buried in an inhuman face. Harry was looking at Lord Voldemort.

“Yeah because you’re just the person I wanted to see” Harry replied sarcastically, looking Voldemort straight into his eye and not lowering his wand.

“I’m impressed Harry” Voldemort continued, “You have fought well, and now I know why. You have had a magical surge”

Harry’s eyes narrowed, “And how do you know that?”

“You see Harry” Voldemort said, “When you’ve had a magical surge you can just tell when someone else has had one” Harry kept his wand raised.

“What do you want Tom?” Harry spat.

Voldemort chuckled, “You should join me Potter. This world isn’t ready for a union of the Dark Lord and the Boy Who Lived”

“You should fuck off” Harry replied and felt a small amount of satisfaction when Voldemort’s eyes flashed with rage,

“Watch your tongue Potter” He sneered, “I’ve killed better men then you for less”

“And that’s why I would never join you” Harry replied calmly.

“But you and I are the same” Voldemort said, “Look at what you’ve done today. Look at the power you’ve shown. Think about what you can do with it”

“I have thought about it” Harry said, pausing to pretend that he was thinking, “I could destroy you with it”

Voldemort shook his head in disappointment, “Harry, we could have ruled together. I suppose I’m going to have to rule myself. AVADA KERDAVA” Voldemort yelled, the fatal green light exploding from his wand. Harry was ready however and pointed his wand at Voldemort, shouting,

“EXPELLIARMUS” A red light came from Harry’s wand and the two spells connected in the middle. The force of the spells knocked Harry backwards but Harry stayed focused on his wand as he knew what was happening. It was Prior Incantum, brother wands. This time however, there was no help, for whatever reason his parents didn’t appear. He was alone. And Harry was losing. He didn’t know how long he was there for, it could have been minutes, it could have been hours.

Have you ever heard the saying that you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place? Well that’s exactly where Harry was right now. In front of him was Voldemort’s killing curse which was getting dangerously close to Harry, and behind Harry was the strange doorway that Harry had seen earlier and Harry really didn’t want to know what was on the other side.

Sweat poured from Harry’s forehead as he struggled to hold on. Voldemort was still so much stronger than him and Harry knew he couldn’t hold on for much longer.

“You can’t hold on Harry” that same mysterious voice said, “Walk into the doorway Harry. It is your destiny”

The killing curse was inches away from Harry now and he knew he had no choice. He formed a plan in his head, and he would probobly end up dead or worse because of it. But it has a chance of defeating Voldemort, and Harry didn’t have another choice. Harry watched as the green light was only inches away from him. Harry closed his eyes and drew up all the magic he could. He took a deep breath before he lowered his wand, any resistance to the Green Light was now gone and the curse flew at Harry but moments before it hit Harry, he opened his eyes and released all the magical energy inside of him.

The resulting magical blast was so strong destroyed half of Hogsmeade. The pure magical energy Harry released somehow dissolved the power of the killing curse, but what really surprised Harry was that this didn’t feel like it was all Harry’s magical power. It felt like there was a part of his magic that was locked, that Harry couldn’t use, and that worried Harry. That however, was Harry’s last thought.

The magical blast sent Harry flying backwards, straight through the mysterious doorway.

And the Boy Who Lived, died.

But the legend of Harry James Potter, truly began.
