Review for Depth Chapter 1 from darklordmike on March 18, 2009

Well, I wouldn't call this pointless, as it does imagine a scene that takes place 'off-screen' in canon. I do agree with the previous reviewer, though, that it would be more at home in a longer fic. That said, this is still a decent effort. You did a good job of building the suspense leading to the act, and the decaying rabbit was a nice touch. But Tom's reflections on love--"a flimsy, unreliable substance"--are a bit trite. If you rewrite this, it would be nice to see him make a more considered rejection of it. Good luck

Well, this would look good as part of some fic, but as oneshot it's pointless. We don't learn anything new about Riddle, or see any conflict in here. Even his motivations and feelings are mostly covered by original books.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been considering expanding this for awhile and from what you have said, it seems like it would be better if I did. I am now considering a few ideas for this if I find the time to write them!
