I'm not usually a fan of Ron/Hermione stuff, and, whilst I bow in supplication to JKR, goddess of the potterverse, I must admit, when I read the epilogue in DH, all I could come up with was what WAS she thinking?
Whilst I could see them as a teen romance, I just couldn't picture Hermione putting up with Ron for the long haul.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not a Ron hater, but I just couldn't see it.
You managed to make that ship plausible, warts and all, and rather touching.
The way you described Hermione's handling of the remnants of the war she carries with her, Ron's reaction to it, and her eventual first step on the path to healing was very well done, quite canon in the characterisations (in my humble opinion), and sad, but hopeful.
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to read this.
I couldn't stand Ron in canon, but, i kinda feel sorry for him in this story.. lol..

I think it depends on how the author portrays them. I think Ron is not such a bad guy, but Rowlings just concentrated more on his bad sides than good. Here I tried to take what she did and make it a little more real than she. I think I was partially successful without ruining the characters too much.
Review for Scars Chapter 1 from Voice of the Nephilim on September 11, 2009
I enjoyed this little piece, taking the negative aspects of Ron's personality, without turning him into the asshole incarnate that most fanon does, and actually writing a believable relationship, and problem, between the two.
Well done.

Why thank-you. That was exactly what I was shooting for with this piece. I'll admit Ron can be an ass, but I think it more from ignorance than spite. Thx for the review.
