Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 1 from Delete-Backspace on June 26, 2008
So close to the end I can almost taste it.
I've never reviewed this series before and I just thought I should say you have done a great job of explaining the Dresdan series.
I have never read it and yet I feel I have a good grasp of all the concepts in it.
I do wonder why Harry never picked up that other coin though...

Well, that was quite the cliffhanger.
It's good to see Dumbeldore embrace the idea that he might actually need a warrior in his ranks if he wishes to see Voldemort defeated.
Well done.

Harry's plan for Umbridge was pure brilliance. Malfoy isn't going to know what hit him.
Well done.

While Harry actually taking the time to teach anything to other students might have been OOC a few months ago, it seems he's evolving and learning the value of helping people out. Or he really wants to see Meciel naked. One of those.
Well done.

And so the humane side of Harry doth rear it's head.
Well done.

The conversation between Sirius and Harry was great. Good for Sirius for actually being able to run with Harry, if only for a little while. Despite what Harry might think, it seems Sirius' words did have some sort of effect on him. To what end, remains to be seen.
Good work.

Well, Harry's vision of Arthur had quite the different effect than the canon version. That's pretty cold though, even for this Harry. On second thought, it's not a stretch at all.
Great work.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 14 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
I'm curious to see if Harry is really ever going to develop on a emotional level. The problem is that he is powerful enough to live out the rest of this life in this fashion. Regardless, it's an interesting problem to have in a story.
Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 13 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Wow, the ending to that story was so carefully crafted. All that time I had thought the descriptions of rocks exploding were just to fill space. How wrong I was.
Anyway.
Harry's plan, while a good one, certainly did not work out like he had intended. Any further attacks will just be viewed as Sirius' insane ramblings. Well, he tried.
Great work.

Well, my guess was wrong. The situation with Umbridge disintegrated within the space of a few hours. Impressive. It was mighty satisfying when Harry back handed her. That was great.
Great work.

Harry's interactions with the Hogwarts faculty did not disappoint. He did do well with Umbridge, but I can't really imagine him being able to keep his cool for the rest of the year. Or the rest of the week.
While I'm surprised that Snape yielded to Umbridge, and let her hold the detentions, I'm thinking this is because Snape recognizes her political clout and wishes to curry favor with her. We shall see.
Do you ever plan on telling the story of what Dumbledore had to give up to appease Fawkes?
Well done.

Oddly enough, I'm also getting the feeling that Harry will be killing Umbridge before the end of the year.
This Dumbeldore is very well done. I like that he knows how dark Harr can be, but is willing to work with him towards a common goal.
Great work, yet again.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 9 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Wow, the White Council are not only assholes, but hypocrites.
Regardless, the plot to get Harry back to Hogwarts was well thought out. It's a good idea, and it rather is a indication that Harry is going to have to attend all of his classes. Which means more baiting of Snape. Most excellent.
Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 8 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Harry's little chat with the Carpenter children was great. The kids will be scarred for life. I really like how you ended it, with Harry's arrogance ultimately having a consequence. Perhaps this will help Harry to actually develop emotional control. While that would make the story a little less funny, it would make Harry even more formidable.
Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 7 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
While it should have been obvious to myself, the explanation of the "Luck of God" in this chapter cleared up some of my questions regarding the previous story.
I like Vesper and Voldemort's allegiance, in that they both obviously hate each other, would kill one another without hesitation, but both want Harry dead. Ah, the unifying power of hatred.
Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 6 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
The banter between Harry and Vesper was really well done. I like the setup here, where it seems that the majority of Harry's conflicts will be in direct combat with other Denarians. That should prove to be quite interesting.
Great job.

I don't think I've ever seen a story before that has really explored the depths of Dumbledore's patience. In this story, he would make the saints themselves envious.
Well done sir.

The passwords were gold, in particular the first one.
So, it would seem that Dresden is just as powerful as Harry.
Great battle sequence, excelling in the colorful deaths by the truckload.
Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 3 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Ultimately, I really like how you've forged Harry into someone who still doesn't really care a great deal for other people, but can be coerced, sometimes even by himself, into doing the right things. It seems to be a hard balance to strike, but you've done it.
A vampire hunt sounds good. Well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 2 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Saving people, and then stealing their possessions. That's truly perfect for Denarian Harry. The sword's reproachful glow was great.
So, yes, very well done.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 1 from Voice of the Nephilim on March 16, 2008
Well, Harry, if nothing else, it a master of entrances.
I still know nothing of the Dresden world apart from what you've written in the Denarian Renegade, so i hope that you explain the White Council enough for a layman to understand. Not that I'm worried, considering how well you explained the Denarian world in the first book.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 20 from That Wench on February 21, 2008
Hey Sherrie, not a bad lot of chapters :)
So.. I got back into reading this after like a month of absence, and the marathon reading session I just was pretty good actually. I was definitely entertained.
My only gripe would be Harry's characterisation. I remember you mentioning something about it before, but Harry really does seem overly aggressive and vile. I dunno .. maybe going for but it gets repetitive after a while.
Nevertheless, I actually did enjoy reading this and can't wait for the next update :)

All I can think of is Jon's Omake Cess in see through ice armor and blood...and...yeah.
I'm loving the alliance between Dumbeldore and Harry. Flexible morality, indeed.
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 19 from nuhuh on February 07, 2008
Active use of legilimency in a duel! Seen this before, but never with the practical drawbacks of it. I would say that this at least should always be difficult for him, or anyone. Too much of an advantage otherwise.
“You shouldn't lie, Mr Potter,†Umbridge said sharply. “I know for a fact that the Ministry doesn't have any balls.â€
Review for The Denarian Knight Chapter 18 from nuhuh on February 07, 2008
WHAT! We didn’t get to see Meciel naked!
Very nice DA scene. After having read so much DA fanfiction, I was surprised that this was still new and entertaining.
I think Meciel's hint about minions should become more real. It would be so like a Blackened Denarii to create an army for herself. At least the whole corruption angle would be amusing.
“Lecturing us on how you're right?†Hermione offered sweetly.
