Disclaimer: I do not owner Harry Potter
This was just something random I threw together a while ago. I was listening to "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry and reading a really sad Angelina/Fred story on FanFiction.net. This is what resulted.
The Room of Requirement was filled to bursting with Hogwarts students, all of them ready and willing to go to battle. Listening to Harry made them all want to go and kill some Death Eaters. As his speech finished, the group of kids flowed out of the Room. Two at the very back, didn’t.
The blonde girl made to move forward, but the red head boy beside her caught her sleeve. She turned to look at him, her blue eyes swimming with emotions. His brown ones were full of fear and sadness.
“Star, if we don’t make it through this...” he started, but she cut him off.
“Don’t,” she said bracingly. “We are both going to make it out of this.”
He gave her a sad smile, whispering, “But just in case...” He pulled her in close, pressing his lips against hers. She responded by throwing her arms around his neck and kissing him back. His arms wound around her waist, pulling her closer. They stayed like that for what seemed like forever, before pulling apart.
Star gave him a soft smile and hugged him tightly before walking out of the Room, going down to the Great Hall, and waiting whatever the universe decided to throw at them...

Flashes of all colors flew around Star’s head as she battled her way through Hogwarts. Screams and shrieks echoed throughout the halls, explosions sometimes renting the air. She saw a flash of green in front of her and then was promptly thrown sideways as her best friend tackled her to the ground. Star looked into the shining eyes of Maya Carlton and gave her a quick thank you before leaping back up and shoving her way through the fray. Dimly, she heard her friend’s reply.
“Had to save you for Fred, didn’t I?”

Just when it seemed that the fight was turning in favor of Hogwarts, a magically enhanced voice echoed over the grounds. Lord Voldemort, calling a time-out, letting them regroup and gather the ones lost to the vicious battle. Star made her way to the Great Hall with the others, following with the flow.
As soon as she reached the Great Hall, her eyes traveled over the families gathered next to their loved ones. She quickly found the redheaded group of Weasleys and hurried forward. They were all gathered around somebody and she wondered who it was.
Halfway there, someone shifted and she caught a glimpse of body on the floor. She stopped dead in her tracks, not wanting to believe what she had seen. The room around her grew blurry as tears filled her eyes.
She turned and took off out of the Great Hall. Faintly, she heard someone calling her name, but she ignored it. She kept running, trying to put the image behind her.
Because Fred Weasley could not be dead. It just wasn’t possible.
