I really do like this story. It's simply too bad you stopped updating.

Chapter 1 was a little bit confused, a little bit hurried. We were thrown into the story in a somewhat odd way, not quite hurled in and not quite nicely set down, but some kind of an uncomfortable medium. It felt like you got a handle on your writing after the first bit, although the parts with Snape still feel a little odd. I don't feel like why Harry decided he needed to keep the diary was properly telegraphed either, and the point of divergence wasn't obvious. Harry has an odd facility with wandless silent magic--presumably this has something to do with being marked as an equal, but he feels a bit overpowered. I think Dumbledore could do a similar feat, but I don't know that anyone else could, at least working on what we know about canon. Also, no mention of Lockhart, odd. And after the Dobby incident, why does Harry think that he can do this kind of magic without being caught? Has he learned about the Trace? Anyway, I hope this review was helpful. The story is interesting, the writing, especially in chapters two and three, is fairly engaging, and the idea of using the diary to learn is an idea that I've wanted to play around with for a long time. I'm interested to see what you do with it. Keep on keepin' on, JJ
