Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 11 from ReviewerOfTheWest on August 06, 2008
Very nice. I was a little surprised to learn that you can get rid of a denizine of hell by just smushing it. I will be interested to learn more about Atlantis and more importantly, who calls him God-Slayer. Please continue.

Bloody marvellous! I honestly can’t think of any suggestions to make concerning the story. It’s better to just sit back and enjoy. Can’t wait to see how Harry handles the questions of Fleur and her friends, he might have to tell her at least a bit of truth specially if he wants her to come with him but what about her friends? Will he just let her friends go remembering what they had seen? Update soon, -MysterioX

Harry may have to spill the beans, in part. Although he's quick enough to talk the devil into setting himself on fire. Maybe he'll say a lot without actually saying anything. Maybe. Thanks for the review, mate.

Whoo-hoo things are starting to heat up now and Harry is in for having a new orifice forcibly installed. I must say that you have an amazing imagination to be able to cook this up. This is one of the few well balanced super-Harry stories I've read and have to say that you have done it brilliantly and have so far avoided the trappings that nearly all the other fall into. Keep it up, I'm really liking this story.
Author reply
Heh, I've had a lot of practice with the pitfalls of Super!Harry. What to do is to avoid anything that's been done before. That's the magic ingredient.

Pity Fleur, then, even if I'm rooting for her pairing-wise. This was another outstanding update, it's strangely comforting to know that Saturnia wasn't behind those attacks, and that she almost seems to favor Harry. I also like your characterization of Chronos...been watching "The Dark Knight"? Looking forward to more.
Author reply
Saturnia's behind a lot of things that haven't made an appearance yet, and some that have that are gonna screw with Harry so damn much and get him tortured and what have you. It'll be fun!

I'm liking this so far. :) Now lets see where you go with it.

Amazing. Simply amazing. I have greatly enjoyed this story, and cannot wait for the next update.

Well, I updated - but thanks for reviewing!
Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 10 from whatareyouevensaying on July 11, 2008
Errg...cliffies. Still an excellent update, of course. Writing with time is a skill that few have mastered, but you're the best I've seen so far, or at least up there. It's hard to know what to root for in this story, I really don't know what I want to happen. I like both Fleur and Tonks...I guess I'll just have to enjoy whatever you decide to write. It's nice to have a story like this, where there doesn't seem to be any wrong direction you could take it in. Looking forward to more.

I've not really decided what to write, to tell you the truth. I'm sort of making this up as I go along, working off a few base ideas and one cool scene that I think might actually be the end of this story. Oh, it's pretty cool. Thanks for the review, mate. Joe
Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 10 from Sesc on July 11, 2008
Well, a few things. FUCK, YEAH!!! ... err, that was for reading a new chapter. Now, that I've got that out of the way, I'll try to use my most amazing observations skills. The question is, of course, what can Harry do _different_, that this time around, things happen in a better way (for him). And I think, so far, everything he does different are things that don't actually relate to Voldemort and the war at first glance: staying at Fleur this long/often, for example. So could the key in fixing things be to not try so desperately to fix them? Or maybe, in not doing it alone? He seems to have told Fleur more than usual, and it had an effect already (that nice Fairy-Tale) Am I on to something there? Am I? Am I ? >_> Then, I discovered one thing that makes epics epic: if you have a back story, that is just as comprehensive as your actual story. And there are stories within stories, and every new story spawns other stories et ad infinitum. You're well on your way there with that Atlantis plot. I like it, keep up the good work, et al.
Author reply
Sesc, buddy, thanks for the review. FUCK, YEAH!!! is what I was shooting for in this chapter, so awesome. Hmm, what can Harry do different? Everything different is being done around him, leaving him with few paths to take. I'm willing to bet he won't put up with that shit for long. Maybe you're on to something, maybe not.... Yeah, epics are epic - and they happen without even realising it. Stories within stories, universes within universes, time within time... And everything that's in between. The Atlantis plot is coming to the forefront over the next few chapters, and we might even get there before Chapter 20. I hope so, anyways. Got big plans for Atlantis. Awesome review, dude, thanks. ~Joe

Now that was an awesome chapter. The fairy-tale was a nice touch, I definitely liked that. And the ending, superb ending. Sorry for the lackluster review.
Author reply
That fairytale was harder to write than 300,000 word novels. I swear to god, I cried tears of blood scribing that thing. Most people seem to like it though, so awesome. I thought I might come off as a bit of a pansy for it, but meh. A lackluster review is still a review. I'm getting 11,000 hits a chapter over at FF.net and only about fifty reviews a chapter. I think that's pretty good actually, although ff.net reviews are ff.net reviews. Anyways, thanks for the review, mate.
Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 9 from ReviewerOfTheWest on May 05, 2008
Wow. A really interesting story, a good twist on the groundhog day plot. I thought that the time opponents were not really necessary at first, but I have grown to like them since the normal HP plot seems to be rather extended we have seen for most of the resets. As such, I do wonder where you are going to make the shortcut to be able to finish this. Please continue.

This is one of those stories where everything seems so surreal. It's like you're falling down the rabbit hole screaming at the top of your lungs in ecstasy and then when you hit the bottom, the only thing you find is heartbreak and confusion. Its a total mindfuck. But definitely of the good kind. That being said, I think I need a joint after reading this fic. Cheers, Mic

"And what happens to the wide-eyed observer when the window between reality and unreality shatters, and the glass begins to fly?" Stephen King wrote that - the master of all mindfucks. Heh, a joint is definitely needed.
Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 9 from CaptainG on April 14, 2008
I think my biggest problem with this is that it completely outscopes canon. It's like 'A Second Chance at Life' and 'Changes...' in that as much as I buy into the writing (which is pretty marvelous, I'm pretty enamoured with the small italicised bits, they provide with some great faux philosophies to test out) I just can't escape the fact that, for me anyway, this isn't a HP fic. If this was billed to me as an original novel (and it could be, if the contexts and character names were changed slightly) I think I would enjoy it a lot more. The technical side of the writing though, is pretty flawless, although I would caution the overuse of profanity. Whilst I think it's legitimate, epecially in the first person, it does seem a little overused.
Author reply
Yeah, I'll be curbing the profanity now that Harry's back amongst friends. Although he's still going to be swearing like a sailor now and again... Cheers.

Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 9 from Jay-F on April 13, 2008
Sounds like something on the same order as whatever gave Harry his time traveling 'thing' is after Harry. That makes on think something has changed, after all in a perpetual time loop the only thing that can cause something unexpected is if something changes, which indicates that Harry's belief that this will be his last try is correct. I was surprised that Harry did not try to take his blood back from Saturna, you can do all sorts of unpleasant things with other peoples blood after all... Thanks for writing, Jay
Author reply
Yeah, Harry's in trouble. Chalk it up to pain and uncertainty in Saturnia's strength that Harry didn't reclaim his blood from the knife. Thanks for the review, joe

I like your writing style. Very Zelaznyish. I like the story too, so for. Only where did Harry get a time turner? Didn't he put it back in the case in the library so he could them use it later to go back in time and leave it back in the xase? Which brings up the question - where did it came from in the first place, anyway?? mo
Author reply
Heh, I've read one or two of the Amber novels. Okay, so Harry went down with Dumbledore in the library, fought and killed the demon, went into the cave and opened the chest, and found the time-turner there, but the portkey he was expecting was missing. When Dumbledore tried to persuade him to come back to England, Harry used the time turner to jump back an hour, and opened the chest again on his own, finding both the time turner he'd just used (so there were two at this point in time) and the portkey. He took the portkey, leaving the time turner for himself to find in an hour. Yeah... confused, much? It came from somewhere very special.

Nice. An unexpected direction and revelation with the reappearance of Saturnia - I'm intrigued and curious as to how you will be continuing with her presence in the story. TweedleDee and TweedleDum - I thought that one of them had died in their previous encounter with Harry? Are they looped through time too, never fully dying? Hmm. Regardless, it's refreshing. Keep it up!
Author reply
Ha, they may be looped in time, or there may be more of them and they all look-a-like. They're a nuisance, either way. Thanks for reading - Joe.

Great work with this chapter, it's actually quite good to see how many enemies Harry has made. His distant future seems pretty bleak from here, but that's how it always seems to be for the poor kid. Looking forward to more.

Oh things shall be bleaker before long. Is bleaker a word? Doesn't matter!

Nice. The quirk with the Time Turner was marvelous - I should have expected to see that one, given Harry's status as a Time Warrior. Good touch with the characterization and dialogue, as always - it's refreshing to see witty and suspenseful conversation.
Review for Harry Potter and the Wastelands of Time Chapter 8 from whatareyouevensaying on March 30, 2008
Good is an understatement, if anything. I've always thought that authors that undertake the use of time-turners are either very very talented or very very stupid. Luckily for the both of us, you're the former. Looking forward to more.

True inspirational brialliance! "Not my best move, once upon a time. This job required a little finesse, a little subtlety - basically, I had to keep it in my pants." Has to be one of the best quotes ever; made me LOL. I await your next chapter with baited breath. Dark Stallion.
Author reply
Yeah I like this kinda Harry with an attitude. Back when I first started writing fics, I was far too canonized with his characterisation. Anyways, joe
